The recent claims by the Owamiran of Esa Oke and the Esa Oke people regarding the ownership of Ido Ayegunle have raised serious questions about the credibility and consistency of their assertions. In a shocking display of contradiction, two different claims have emerged within just ten days, leaving many to wonder about the true intentions behind these statements.
However, in a surprising turn of events, just ten days later, on March 19, 2025, an article published in The Punch Newspaper carried a different narrative. This time, the Esa Oke people, through the same platform, claimed ownership of Ido Ayegunle , completely contradicting their earlier statement.
On March 9, 2025, Otunba Bamigboye Yinusa Aremu, acting as the Chairman of the Esa Oke Central Union, submitted an article stating that Ido Ayegunle belongs to the Efon people of Ekiti State. This official submission to the panel was a clear acknowledgment of Ido Ayegunle’s historical and territorial rights over the land in question.
This inconsistency raises several critical concerns:
- Why are the Esa Oke people making conflicting claims about the same land within such a short period?
- Is this a deliberate attempt to distort historical facts for personal or political gain?
- How can they expect to be taken seriously when their own statements negate each other?
Such contradictions weaken their credibility and expose the possible manipulation of facts to serve an agenda. The people of Ido Ayegunle, as well as neutral observers, must take note of this inconsistency and question the motives behind these conflicting claims.
It is crucial that historical truths and rightful ownership be upheld without distortion. We call on all stakeholders to remain vigilant and challenge any attempt to rewrite history for selfish gains.
